Nine Fingers: Bedford Blues

Life is good for Bedford High School Senior Melissa Ames... other than the fact she has to cover up she is a werewolf! It's been almost eight years since werewolf serial killer, Clayton Truman Ambrose, turned her life upside down. His final 'gift' before dying was to scratch Melissa and infect her with Die Gute Wolf.

Eight years later, the final rogue werewolves are gone thanks to her Aunt Karen and her Good Wolves. Melissa can focus on school and her friends.

But, not every rogue has been eliminated: Ambrose Talbot, world-renowned self-help guru, has come to town with an axe to grind. His philosophy involves 'releasing your inner beast', and, when Talbot and his entourage release their inner beasts? People die.

Melissa's mother and father are called away, leaving Melissa the only werewolf in Bedford.

If that weren't bad enough, she's being haunted by the ghost of Clayton Truman Ambrose.

Think growing up is hard? Try growing up werewolf.

Melissa Ames knows the only way to stop a pack of werewolves is with her own pack.

About

At the time of this publication, Tony Bowman has written nine novels as himself, another twenty under pseudonyms, and numerous short stories and novellas. He lives in North Carolina with his gorgeous wife, Laurie, and his beautiful daughter, Sara. Born in the Appalachian Mountains of southwest Virginia, he will tell you he was born and raised a hillbilly. The hills of his Russell County home are a part of him, as tangible as his fingers or toes. Not a day goes by that he does not miss the steep hills and the dense fragrant forests of pine and cedar. He has lived all over the country, from North Carolina, to the Amish Country of Pennsylvania, to the San Francisco Bay, and the bright lights of Las Vegas. But, the lure of travel is lost on him now, and he longs for the view of the mountains of his youth and the cool taste of water from a limestone well. Mr. Bowman writes stories of Horror, Science Fiction, and Suspense. Horror seems a strange genre for someone who grew up in such an idyllic setting. But, horror stories are woven into the fabric of Appalachian life, whether they are tales of ghosts, or witches, or things that prowl the hills at night – hungry things that snatch away the unwary or unwise. He is merely carrying on the tradition of telling stories in the dark, albeit with a twenty-first century outlook. Mr. Bowman welcomes your comments.
